Making the most of something isn’t the same as putting up with.
When we make the most of something we appreciate it and get as much as we possibly can out of it. It often follows disappointment when our expectations aren’t met. It means our glass is half full and we can usually look at things with a sense of optimism. When we make the most of something we are active and in a state of positivity.
When we put up with something it means we tolerate something for the sake of it. There is an allowing and letting things happen. It implies no sense of power, and we excuse or ignore the negative aspects of a situation or a person’s behaviour. These things can be very subtle, but very affective.
When we truly appreciate something, we are grateful for it and all that it brings, and we can enjoy something as much as is possible.
So just for today make the most of anything that comes your way and stop putting up with. Being aware of your circumstances and how you respond, is the first step to self-empowerment.
